I built my career co-creating with older adults and collaborating with community artist. My journey began working as an activity director at the Bloomington Hospital Adult Care in the 1990's. I served as the Life Enrichment Director at a senior living community in Bloomington Indiana from 2008-2020.  There, I was able to develop a comprehensive arts program that included creative writing, story telling, fiber arts, choral, dance, and ukulele. The visual art classes served as the foundation for in building the program. Below you'll find a sampling of sequential learning modules that involve a variety of art making tools and techniques. Creating a supportive, risk free, and fun environment where experimentation was encouraged allowed for meaningful relationships to be developed. A designated studio space was crucial to the success of the program.  All learning modules culminate in an event to celebrate the creative process, which provided validation for the artists and confirmed the value of their work.
