"Creative potential is there in all of us, an inner resource, renewable and vibrant, no matter how much or how little it is used. this creative spirit has the power to change our lives at every age."

CREATIVE AGING CONSULTING
My career in gerontology was seeded by my maternal grandparents, both extraordinary creative individuals served as the inspiration to live my life as an artist. The curiosity and thirst for lifelong learning came from the many elders that I have served and have had the pleasure of knowing and co-creating with. The courage to do the work came from my studies with Lynn Andrews who taught me how to trust my intuition and follow my heart. And finally my confidence came from the creative aging research of Dr. Gene Cohen and Susan Perlstein. I'm proud to carry forward this work with deep reverence and gratitude for their gifts.

Painting Van Gogh-ish
In the fall of 2018, Bell Trace elder artists were invited to serve as art-making mentors at a local elementary school. This initiative, coordinated by Indiana University Libraries, used the children's picture book "Ish" by Peter Reynolds, to explore the concept of perfection in the process of making art.
In preparation for their role as art-making mentors, the elders tried out the "ish attitude" when approaching their own creative work in a month long exploration of painting Van Gough-ish.
A simple act of service opened up a world of n experience that hey wsuld later transfer to wisdom keepers.
